Alan J. Jacobs MD
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Alan Jacobs received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He served his medical residency at the University of Rochester in New York, and completed rheumatology training at the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Jacobs chose Lincoln as his home in 1981, and in partnership with Dr. Melvin Churchill and Dr. Art Weaver, founded Arthritis Center of Nebraska in 1984. He established the Osteoporosis Center in 1986.
Dr. Jacobs recently introduced the use of ultrasound technology for advanced assessment and treatment of joint disease. A real proponent of patient participation and education, Dr. Jacobs presents lectures on disease management and osteoporosis to interested groups throughout the area.
