Dr. Robert M. Valente

  • Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota

Dr. Robert Valente earned a BS in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota, then graduated from Mayo Medical School. After finishing his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, he completed his rheumatology fellowship at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He remained at the Mayo Clinic for 11 years, where he practiced, was a consultant in rheumatology, and served as Chair of the rheumatology education committee and Director of rheumatology training.

Dr. Valente joined the Arthritis Center of Nebraska in 1999. He is an instructor at the Lincoln Family Medicine residency program, and is the past Director of Clinical Research at the Arthritis Center. He has published more than 20 articles and abstracts, and has written three chapters on systemic vasculitis for major textbooks.
