Kristin Twidwell enters the rheumatology profession after spending over seven years working in Family Medicine. During her time as a general medical provider, she built a strong practice focusing on women’s health, with a special interest in preventative healthcare. She is now working alongside Dr. Rick Chatwell at the Arthritis Center and enjoys the team approach that they use to give their patients the best care possible in managing their rheumatic and arthritic diseases.

Kristin moved to Lincoln in 2013 with her husband and two children. Her husband, Dirac Twidwell, is a professor at the University of Nebraska and her two young children happily keep her busy and running. Between family and work, hobby time is limited, but exercise is a must. Kristin enjoys spending time at the gym, sneaking in an early morning workout and teaching spin classes at Genesis Raquet Club before starting her day.

Kristin is a member of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professional and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Her most recent training includes the postgraduate Advanced Rheumatology Course through the American College of Rheumatology. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 from Oklahoma State University. In 2006, she graduated with Honors from Wichita State University with a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

“Staying active is crucial to managing arthritis.”
